Amboseli National Park

Location
Views and Vistas

Amboseli National Park lies north west of Mount Kilimanjaro and is along the border of Tanzania.

During the dry season large concentrations of wildlife are to be found here, and this makes it a popular place for tourists and wildlife enthusiasts.

The park is the home of the brightly-painted Masai Tribe.

Here you can see lions, cheetahs, hyenas as well as gnus, kaffir buffaloes, Burchell’s zebras and herds of elephants. All these animals come to drink at water-holes consisting of small lakes or muddy ponds kept filled up by water from the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. The northern Lake Amboseli is rain-fed and fills up only in the wet season.
